Benefits for U.S. Employees
Healthcare
Convera's healthcare plans give you access to health prevention services, high quality physicians, dentists, mental health counselors, vision services, hospitals, prescription drugs and security against the high cost of medical care in the event of serious illness or injury.
Convera contributes approximately 95% of the premiums for staff members and their families.
- Medical - We offer a PPO plan through Destiny Health and the PHCS network to all staff members working 30 or more hours per week effective on their hire date. Convera also provides a Personal Medical Fund (PMF) to help defray costs.
- Dental - Our PPO dental plan also offers an orthodontic benefit.
- Vision - Our vision coverage allows for annual exams, and glasses or contacts every other year.
- Flexible Spending Accounts - To set aside pre-tax dollars for out-of-pocket expenses, we offer both a health FSA at $3,000 and a dependent care FSA at $5,000 per calendar year.
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - Our EAP allows you and your dependents confidential and convenient access to short-term professional counseling, legal, financial, and dependent care services at no cost to you.
Investing In Your Future
- 401(k) Plan - Our 401(k) plan provides for a Company match and is designed to provide you with an important opportunity to build your financial security. Our plan is open to all employees at any time.
- Employee Tuition Assistance - Convera will reimburse 100% of eligible tuition and book expenses up to $5,000 on an annual basis. Courses must be pre-approved and taken at an accredited college or university.
- Section 529 College Savings Plan - Our CollegeboundFund by Alliance Capital allows you to invest after-tax dollars to pay for education for yourself, spouse or children. Your investment grows free of federal income tax, and distributions for qualified education expenses are also free of federal income tax.
- Life and Accidental Death - Convera provides all full-time staff members with a company-paid group life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance plan. You may purchase additional supplemental term life insurance coverage for yourself and family members.
Time Away
- Vacation - 15 days of paid vacation per year are earned on an accrual basis (10 hours/month) for all full-time staff members. After seven years, vacation increases to 20 days per year.
- Holidays - We offer 9 paid holidays per calendar year. We also provide 2 floating holidays per calendar year that can be used at your discretion.
- Sick Leave - Convera will continue your base salary if you are a full-time employee and you experience an illness or injury that prevents you from reporting to work for up to 30 days. If the illness or injury continues, long-term disability would begin.
- Long-Term Disability - Convera provides full-time staff members with a long-term disability plan at no cost. You may also purchase additional LTD coverage.
